By using Ukhan Tukka (the “site”), you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

Ukhan Tukka is a free, ad-supported reference of Nepali proverbs (ukhan tukka), with romanized readings and English meanings where available. There are no accounts, subscriptions, or purchases on the site.

The proverbs themselves are part of Nepal’s shared oral heritage. You’re welcome to read, quote, and share individual proverbs from this site, including via the built-in share links, for personal, educational, and non-commercial use, with attribution back to Ukhan Tukka where practical.

The site’s design, code, romanizations, English meanings, and curation are the work of the site’s author. Don’t scrape, republish, or redistribute the collection in bulk, or present it as your own work, without permission.

Proverbs, romanizations, and meanings are compiled with care but may contain errors, regional variation, or incomplete information — some entries have no English meaning or category yet. Nothing on this site is professional, legal, or linguistic advice. If you spot something wrong, corrections are welcome (see the About & Contact page).

Saved favourites live only in your browser’s local storage — there’s no account and nothing is stored on a server. Clearing your browser data clears your favourites, and they don’t carry over between devices or browsers.

The site displays ads served by Google AdSense and may link out to third-party sites (for example, social share targets or the companion Android app’s Google Play listing). Those third parties operate under their own terms and privacy policies, which this site doesn’t control. See the Privacy Policy for how advertising cookies work here.

The Ukhan Tukka Android app, available on Google Play, is separate software with its own listing, permissions, and terms on the Play Store. These website terms don’t govern the app.

The site is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. It may be unavailable, changed, or discontinued at any time without notice.

To the extent permitted by law, Ukhan Tukka and its author aren’t liable for any damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site.

This site is not directed at children under 13 and is not designed to collect information from them.

If these terms change, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the update.
